error during login

An error occured during the login process. Please try again.

Every time I start up the game I get this error. My saved progress is gone and it started a new game. I already restarted my PC and reconnected my router to get a new IP adress. But the error persists. How do I fix this so I can continue my old saved game? There's also a lock so I cannot click on the profile on top.

You need to sign in to wherever you signed in when you started the game (Facebook or your Microsoft account or Steam). That should let you get your old game back.

I cannot sign in anywhere, at least I have not found any option for that

Did you get the game from Steam or from the Microsoft store? You need to sign in where you got the game from (not in the game).

OK. Start Steam only. With the main screen for Steam up, left click on "Steam" (the leftmost tab at the very top). Click "Change account" and logout. Exit Steam then restart it.

You should now be asked to sign into Steam with the password for your Steam account. Do that and then start SF. That should give you an option to resume your old game.

He was two years offline. I talked to him in the past. He should open a ticket to CC. But to be honest i assume, that his former process got deleted during the last Server change. To due inactivity .. two years dead accounts are not moved i assume..

I would think so. A couple of months ago the older inactive accounts in my clan list all disappeared (presumably a server change as you say). Apart from raising a ticket I don't think there is anything he can do. There is probably something in Gameloft's t's & c's to allow them to drop accounts dormant for so long.

2 years isn't even that long. If that is really the case then I see no reason to pick up the game ever again. I played in 2017, I played in 2019, now in 2021 I cannot play any more?
But even if my old account is gone and it started a new one, that stil doesn't explain the login error it's giving me every time I start it up.
I only wanted to play a few rounds again, not having to deal with support and stuff...

The login error could simply be your computer trying to log in to your old game and it not being found on the server.

I enjoy the game but if you are not playing fairly regularly and putting in quite a lot of time you will never catch up to get the top weapons and gear. Without that then what you can do in the game will be limited.
