Is there an updated guide or something somewhere?
I've searched every link I can find on Steam, I've looked at the Wikis, and I signed into the Discord (which won't let me post anything), and I can't find an updated guide that has answers to any of my questions. The main question I have right now is this: do you have to re-start the science and heart trees for every park? Because it's making me do that and I can't believe that's how the game is supposed to work. I can't progress at all because I'm stuck building an exhibit that requires a plant that I can't get because I can't get enough science or money, because I only have one dinosaur that requires a biome that needs that plant. I'm basically in a loop.

Is this how the gameplay works? If so, can anyone tell me how I am supposed to progress when I have to start from scratch on every park?

Hi Zoe,

With regards to the Discord you will need to join one of the dino families in the hatching nest channel. This is a measure to prevent spamming of the server.

As for the tech unlocks, I'll need to run that by one of the devs as I cant remember off-hand how it works. I'll ask one to drop by the thread.

Heya, welcome! Alright. My first question is if you are talking about the Campaign missions of a Custom game? If you are talking about campaign missions; the earlier missions do "reset" the science trees more then the later ones. Two thoughts on this:

1) Carrying through progression in the Science and Heart teach tree in the campaign would limit us from having any tech-based objectives since it would be impossible for us to know where every player would be in the tech tree for each mission. A total balance nightmare.

2) With that said though - I think we could be more generous on what is unlocked in the earlier missions, provide a "sense" of progression.

3) Some of the campaign missions might have you requiring say, desert trees, and we want the player to unlock these; a reminder/learning event of how the overall system works.

4) WITH THAT SAID for #3, we also don't want to discourage you and have a feeling of "oh god, I have to unlock this again". This is why feedback yours is important, so please, share your thoughts on this. :)

If your comment is about the Custom game - then yes, tech trees do reset.

No, it's the campaign. I was trying to do the Tropical one? But I couldn't build the biome for the dino egg I had because I didn't have swamp bushes. So I don't know how to progress in that one.

You don't need trees, bushes, or rocks to make a biome. Just having enough of the correct ground type, and enough water or hills if the biome requires it, is enough to make it that biome.

Trees/Rocks/Bushes just really improve the exhibit conditions for the dinos.

Without giving too much away, is there a way you could start with a different dino to the egg you are given at the start until you unlock those bushes?
