How can i give hats to dinosaur

I dont know how to make the dinosaur wear hats. I have a few but if i drag it out of inventory nothing happened

When the dinos are 8 days or older you can drag them into a slot on the Dino info screen

I cant give a hat to a baby dinosaur?

The Dino must be an adult and therefore over 1 week old. The hats done scale so wouldn't work on the babies
