Trouble with Making Powertrains
Hello-
I have installed a "make powertrain" component in my factory, but things are not going as expected. Occasionally I can see a powertrain get picked up and taken for fitting but, for the most part, the powertrains are coming from an import socket.

A few other observations: The powertrain manufacturing area has a lot of powertrains just sitting there, while the fitting shop has space for more powertrains.

The import socket is closer to powertrain fitting than the "make powertrain" is to the powertrain fitting. Maybe this is why they are coming from the socket rather than the local manufacturer?

Also, I'm not using a stockpile anywhere in my factory (I don't see any need to). Thirdly, I noticed, in another thread, something about a radio button which lets you choose "local supply" over "imports," but I can't find any such radio button. Fourthly, I'm getting a "no export room" message where I manufacture the powertrains. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

Edit: Also, I just have one simple powertrain fitting shop, and I haven't broken it into separate components. Oops--another edit--I just realized you can't break powertrain fitting into separate components.

same thing happens to me, even when i have changed it to local, have a manufacturing slot but still the powertrain slot either says needs resources (which there are numrous) or takes from import point. It did not work to such a point i deleted the powertrain manufacture, as none or very little where being used and the wait for the compontent being too long.

OK, thanks for sharing what happened to you, sounds like there might be a bug in the powertrain manufacturing station and/or local delivery to the fitting shop?

Make sure the manufacturing section is connected to the “fit” station with manufacturing having import on (all) and the “fit” station on (local) also would suggest adding a stockpile nearby also on (local)

Thanks, I have confirmed that the powertrain manufacturing station is connected to the fitting station with resource conveyors. And I do occasionally see a powertrain get picked up and taken to the fitting station. It's just that they are usually coming from an import socket. I can see 21 powertrains just sitting there on the manufacturing pallets, while there is room for them over at the fitting pallets.

I haven't researched import priorities yet, but I'll get right on it! I have also just added a supply stockpile right next to the powertrain fitting stockpile. I added the powertrain as an item to the stockpile (limit 32), but as I said, I need to research those import priorities. We'll see how it goes!

Another oddity, I just saw a powertrain come in from a socket and go to my powertrain manufacturer, and the powertrain was placed on a pallet, right there at the manufacturer!
[Edit:] I think they were engine assemblies, not powertrains.

Edit: OK, I have researched import priorities, but the funny thing now is, the "prefer local" boxes are still greyed out. Ah, I can activate them even though they are greyed out. I'm good, thanks.

Does that fix it? There are several different types of powertrain now (electric, hybrid etc), are you sure the right ones are being produced?

Ya it was just not having import priorities researched
