You want to create a circuit where the goods go around and then "turn off" so to speak at the appropriate junction.
You should be able to solve this one by basically doubling up on the ring you have going around the production line itself.
Part 2 of your issue can be solved in 2 halves. First the need for the car to enter the assembly station BEFORE goods are called is deliberate and the tech tree has tech that once learned will turn this to how you want it to be .. proactive vs reactive.
HOWEVER! Stations them selves onl hold enough resources to mod 1 car and a lil bit extra, thus if you have a backlog whereby you have more resources than you have cars to fit them you need to build a stockpile using the rules I gave you at the start.
So to sum up.
*Never have main lines running through drop-offs
*Always add additional lines as required - think of it like a train track - you dont want trains to risk crashing.
*Research the ability to have the assembly request the needed items BEFORE a car is present.
*Build stockpiles in areas where vast amounts of 1 item have high demand/supply needs and configure it accordingly.
These are some basic tips and I hope it helps! Let me know if you need more :D
Not really sure what this means
I've started a new game and have the same exact problem. I've followed tutorial videos and my factory doesn't behave like any other tutorial video. It is impossible for me to feed ONE Fit Body slot. I cannot get past this period. I have my Supply Stockpile set to Fit Body but it doesn't matter, this seems broken. It is game over. Not sure what is going on but I'm returning this game, it doesn't behave like any videos I'm watching, seems bugged.

So basically this game is unplayable right now with this current build? Why doesn't the developer offer a Beta build if he's not going to QA stuff that can result in an unplayable game? At least that way a) we'd be able to QA for him and b) we'd have another version to fall back on when it hits the fan like this.
BTW this is pretty devastating to a new player - particularly right after it was on sale which no doubt attracted other new players.
It's in Early Access, which is the equivalent to a very extended public alpha and beta. You agreed to dealing with issues when you purchased an Early Access game.
- Research splitting the body mount before building any production items.
- Setup multiple lines side by side to increase throughput.
- - A single frame can support about 3 split body lines feeding 3 painters, 3 engine mounts, followed by merging into 2 accessories, 1 electronics, 1 QA check and finally 1 export.
- Research additional electronics upgrades for your cars, and put them in every car you build. They have large margins.
This will support you with enough output to be profitable quickly. You can then research away until you can split the factory and build things out how you want them. :)
