Copied from Start Stop no powertrain thread on this very page at time of copying. (search is your friend!)

Yep, It took me some digging too, but this is what you need to do to get the Start-Stop motor going, assuming you've developed it.

You need to build both the starter motor and powertrain production modules. You can research these under the engines tab and they are called 'Make Starter Motor' and 'Make Powertrain' respectively.

And that's all she wrote actually, connect them with resource conveyers.

The weird part is that the make starter motor module produces something it marks as a 'Stop-Start Engine'.

In fact, this component acts like a Engine Control Unit when it is deliverd to the make powertrain module and is added to the new powertrain.

These new powertrains are confusingly marked as Stop-Start Engines too

Nevertheless, your powertrain production chain part will accept these marked parts and when your cars have them, they'll register as having Stop-Start Engines.

There you go!

so in the end you make a stopp-start-ECU, not engine; or what?......

Kinda, you're making a powertrain that includes a transmission, and assembled engine and an engine control unit. That means you end up with a powertrain that is marked with a stop-start engine, which is what you want.
