Is it just me or is the right lane in the drag race bugged?
My car runs 8.5s all day in the left lane but won't even crack sub 9s in the right lane.

Oh and awesome progress the Devs has made with the driving feel

Seems like the update slowed my cars down a little and sped up the top pinkslip challenge drag car, he ran an 8.95 instead of the ~9.40 he used to run. I almost regretted running rwd when we both ran 8.95 and I luckily won the tie.

yeah it was the pink slip race that had me a little puzzled. Thanks for the info.

yes, the update 25 made some changes to make cars more realistic including acceleration. (previously some v6 stock cars was able to get a Ferrari F40 time... now they are much closer to reality)

As Doc already mentioned, the difference is due to the timer. When you race the timer starts immediately at start (so both car timer start same time), while in time trial, the timer starts when you left the start line

There will be changes in the future to make the start light, starting, staging, tire warmup, etc all realistic and follow one of the common race mode (or implement more, since even in USA, different areas, cities uses different starting, staging, warmup rules)

The timing differences are for different classes, not different areas. Performance based classes all use a pro tree and bracket racing uses the stepped lights. I thought I was king of Forza drag racing because I went a couple weeks without losing a race. Turns out, everybody good ignores drag lobbies because they have the bracket lights and auto start like you have. We end up in private rooms using peoples brake lights to start races, and I sure don't go weeks between losses there.

For most drag racing people, its pro tree or no tree.

Thanks Doc! Your comments are always welcome!

The main reason we did not added stages yet, because it makes drag more complicated, still we are going ahead of simulating races as much we can as they are in real life, so drag will follow soon.
We had discussion over drag, stages, stepped lights, rules with pro drag racers and it turned out they were not able to "believe" how much difference you can have based on region as well. In EU staging is less known, in USA, most races using what you have described above, in JP it is again different, in AU also people mixing different starting modes... so we made it simple with a "GO"

But you are right, these should be implemented separately, based on race type and not one or the other.
(which means we can have more drag races :P )
