Is nugget the smartest of the students

we all know Monty can read and Felix can write but Nugget can solve problems, he can dig fast, he knows almost everyone by heart, also he can Read and write. so is he the smartest

I'd say it's a matter of differing definitions.
Monty is most academically smart, but I agree that Nugget seems to have better problem solving, if only marginally at times, and better social and emotional intelligence, and he does get points for reading and writing, rare skills amongst his peers.
Nugget's like a dozen buckets all filled halfway. That's half a dozen buckets of value, as opposed to his peers who have full buckets, but just one or two.
