The difficulty of this game is malleable, the beginning can be a little tricky because you don't have gear, skeletons and slimes are tricky enemies through the entire game because they are hard to stagger. The higher the difficulty, better will be the drops, less from boss and purple enemies because they have a fixed lot and exp regardless of the difficulty, so if you're comfortable fighting against enemies on normal, switch to Hard and keep going.

You can have 3 weapons equipped, they have a percentage bar, when it reaches 100% you will perform a better version of your skill, you raise it by hitting enemies, but do not focus too much on it and use your skills for crowd control at all the times.

Characters: start using Roland, then midgame switch for Evan and try Tani at the endgame, Batu is ok and Bracken is to frail for her role, I never tried Leander myself.

Higgledy also are super important but most of them are locked behind your town progression and you can't do nothing about it.

i need to get back to finishing the game but when i left off i had more money than i know what to do with. you may had just needed to strategize better?

and no it's not a waiting sim, not sure where that came from. but i'm sure by now the OP has already figured out how to play. not sure why you necro'd the thread to add that?

He is clearly exaggerating, with all the side quests and conquer battles available it's perfect doable to get glidders while you do those.

We can only start crafting things when our base is at lv4 anyways and this is locked behind story progression,, you can pretty much play the game normally and do the minimum at your base, there's no reason to fret about it.

Sure but a lot of the quests i've gotten are just plain fetch quests, talk to this person, or ones that require an item that you get from having specific buildings upgraded to specific levels. I mean the first game had it's tedious aspects but nothing like in this game.

Not to mention the issues the game has with broken HDR and regularly minimising the game and knocking you back to desktop

True, but there are events to dominate certain maps (mock battles I think) and that alternative dimension that you need to visit a dozen of times.

And speaking about fetch quests, most of them are locked behind story progression as well lol, luckily I never had this shut down bug, it must sucks.

I also won't talk about the DLCs because they are post game.
