Bandai Namco doesn't understand REGIONAL PRICING
Another Day, Another Publisher who arbitrarily increased the regional price.

For $60 games
  • Standard pricing : Rs. 1,299
  • Ni No Kuni 2 : Rs. 4,299

This game, by Bamco's logic, would cost us equivalent of $198 if we do the math.
Just how is that anywhere purchasable? Do you NOT want people to buy your game?

If you don't want people outside US/Europe to buy your games, why bother selling them here, huh?

Wait... what area are you again?

https://steamdb.info/app/589360/

Because I really didn't see any place with $198 here :| (yes there's $86 area, and I think that place isn't really fair to get that maybe? I'm not sure, but there's no that crazy price)

Wait, whaaat? $35 for Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and $50 for another CIS? Why such stupid things are happening?
Luckily I can buy from a third party store and activate the Russian version.

well it's $50 for my area, and tbh russia/ukraine I think has always got the cheapest anywhere...

https://steamdb.info/app/637650/

Even this is $30 only.

So yeah. It has always been that way, in a lot of games (especially aaa) I think that's why I hear there's a lot of people going with russia's region instead of their own region iirc

Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan are part of the CIS, but they have separate pricings from another CIS region, despite the fact that all countries in CIS region have about the same standard of living.
And even FFXV is $30 for me. BAMCO is really stupid with this pricings.

Considering they did really excellent in Tales of Berseria... I have no idea why :(

I'm gonna guess it's more on Level-5 than bamco. After all Bamco only has license to western release. Level-5 is publishing it in Japan. L-5 probably told bamco what price and that stuff.

I love Level-5 as a dev, but some of the things they do is really questionable, sigh :[

Indian region.
DIRECT CONVERSION of our current NNK2 pricing would be $65.85 , but if Rs. 1,299 = $60 (which is the standard set by Steam), then $4,299 = $198 for us.

Nope, pricing is set by Bandai Namco. They have been setting this unfair regional prices for quite some time.
Level-5 has nothing to do with this.

Well...if they won't change their prices based on regional pricing model......third party site it is.
Viper Mar 19, 2018 @ 3:21pm
Indian Rupees are presently worth .0151319 USD. It is not $198. 4299 Rupees = 65 USD. There is no set standard...Steam or no Steam. Regional pricing is a decision not a set law. Steam does not decide prices. The Developers do. Many developers are going away from regional pricing. Why should you pay 1/4 the amount that people in other parts of the world have to pay. Developers are losing money selling products to you. The game costed a certain price to make. That places a minimum price on each copy sold to break even. If your not happy with the price you are free not to purchase the product. The Developer does not run there business with Rupees all they care about is how much money they are receiving from you when converted to the money they use to run their business. When the developers converts that purchase they will not recieve $198 USD.

if no one buys , the devs doesn't receive any amount .I don't know about you ,but something is always better than nothing , I thought business end goal is to get something in return , hiking price to an absurd amount ,that results in a massive loss from a certain region is nothing but BS business practice .

Final Fantasy 15 is cheaper here than this game. Shame, I wanted to buy Ni No Kuni II.

Well, tell this to thousand of other games from other publishers who do not pull off this nonsense and have actually priced their sensibly, i.e. following the standard rupee pricing for the respective $ value.

Look, you can discuss the economics all you want, but the fact of the matter is Bamco put up an abysmally high regional pricing, when other publishers are fine following the usual pricing model.
I think we can all agree that quite unfair.
