Control changes don't get saved

I'm playing with an Xbox One controller and i want to swap the B and the A button (jumping with B is pretty annoying) but everytime i swap them, when i return to the game the buttons are setted like before. I really don't understand if it's a bug or my controller. Any way to fix this ?

it should ask before exiting setting after changing "would you like to save your changes" and say yes if it does not i am not sure how i can help as i am a pc user help this finds you well

I know i have to accept the "would you like to save your changes" message, but even after accepting it, when i return in game the controls are still like before...

This happened to me, to fix it I changed the controller settings through steam.
