HDR - NVidia still broken
NVIDIA acknowledge this issue in there drivers, and have for 3 months now. How long until this is going to fixed? Surely it can't be that difficult to fix it.

Anyone having problems with a black screen when booting it up, just set windows to HDR before booting it up and the game will run no problem HDR and all, it seems to be if you have HDR set in the games options and not windows aswell it just goes black like it crashed. Try it it works believe me.
STOP YOUR LYING MUDAFU*KER!! I already tried that before you even posted this lie! Switching Windows 10 to HDR than starting the game just results in the game switching HDR on and than having my monitor (ASUS PG27UQ) have a seizure. The screen will say no signal and my display will keep changing from standby mode to acting like its received a signal, it's a f*cking loop until I press Ctrl+Shift+Esc and end the game's process! Do I need to show you a video of what happens to my monitor when trying to launch this game with HDR, or will you rather stay in denial?
it works for me its not my problem it doesnt work for you, and im not lying why the hell would lie about ? your crazy. yes show me a video of it and i will show you mine.

Okay I apologize. The game does work in HDR but definitely not what I would call functionally reliable. I did what you said.

1. Make sure the game is set to HDR with fullscreen enabled. Of course this causes my monitor to loop endlessly so I exit out the game with Ctrl+Shift+Esc and end the process.

2. Turn Windows HDR mode on.

3. Start game. My screen will again keep looping constantly for about a minute until finally the game shows up with HDR enabled. Rather the game works or not in HDR is random.

The game developers should just f**king fix this game and make HDR work like it use too! Ni No Kuni II is the only game I have that acts up with HDR enabled!

Oh and guess what happens when I turn off HDR while playing? My monitor will turn black and say no signal and loop!

Hard to tell who is to blame more, Nvidia or Level-5. There could even be a chance that Nvidia has reached out to Level-5 to try to fix it but Level-5 just ignored them and don't care enough about their customers/supporters to give them the fix. Then there is a chance Nvidia might not have even bother really looking in to it because the game isn't big enough to them (their last driver 419.35 didn't even have Ni No Kuni 2 HDR issue listed in the open issues, even though they still haven't fixed it, making it seem like they just gave up) and once again doesn't care enough about their customers/supporters to get a fix out to them.

Then both parties could be to blame. Either way, with how long it has gone on without a word from Level-5, it does show they don't care. I am starting to get the feeling both companies are just telling us that they don't care and we will never get a fix for the HDR. It shouldn't have taken this long.
I promise my next Video Card will be AMD Navi! I'm sick of Nvidia's sh!t!! At least with AMD there will be less compatibility issues and bugs with multiplatform games since Sony and Microsoft will be using AMD APU's in their consoles for now on. HDR in Ni No Kuni II is broken only for Nvidia users!

HDR works on my RTX2080TI no problem, i wouldent touch an AMD card they have far more issues with games than any nvidia card, AMD just showed us NAVI 10% faster than an RTX2070 on a game that favors AMD LOL i hope its some sort of joke, but i watched it myself, i hope thats not there top end NAVI card and they have something more to show because its not looking good when nvidia have cards far more powerful than that. the consoles have being useing AMD for years and AMD are the worst performing cards on pc in the most games. console APUs wont change that, consoles have being useing them for years nothing has change.

I guess i'll have to upload a video showing you what happens when trying to play this game in HDR since you obviously do not believe me.

I've patched the game executable to fix the problem. Simply go to your installation folder, backup the old executable and copy this new one to replace it.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1uSeMFwcwNGFvLEAy6JJYXYZEe1JjU_9m

Only works for version 4.00 of the game (currently the most recent version).

Sorry about that, it's the upload website that's been marked as malicious, I wasn't aware of that. I'll edit the post with a different file hoster. Here's the VirusTotal report showing that the actual file is clean:

Wow nice work @NanoHDR! Your fixed .exe works perfectly for me. HDR is back :)
MancombSeepgood Jun 11, 2019 @ 11:10am
Any chance you can tell us what changes you've made to the .exe?

Works perfect, thanks a lot. Sad you have to do the work of the Devs/Nvidia who should have been able to fix this but w/e thanks again!
MancombSeepgood Jun 12, 2019 @ 10:53am
I had a look at the file myself, and the only change in the .exe is a few instructions that were NOPped (here's a screenshot: https://ibb.co/162cs9V ) - so for anyone who's still wary of downloading the fix, there are no malicious alterations and it completely resolves the HDR issue.

NanoHDR, thank you for being awesome and doing the dev's job for them :D. You should go ahead and post your fix on PCGamingWiki (here: https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Ni_no_Kuni_II:_Revenant_Kingdom ) to reach the max amount of people!

I've uploaded a new version that only changes a single instruction, it's a more minimal fix than NOPing out all the instructions. I've also added a link to this version to the PCGamingWiki.
