Yeah this was my problem with the extreme difficulty. The AI just wasn't up to the challenge. You can still do it but make sure you have a crap tonne of healing because you will need it to heal the fallen AI players back up. Still, it's worth trying it on that mode if you like a challenge. Fighting something like a manticore is a white knuckle fight.
Interestingly, the president isn't really the main character. Also the original Ni No Kuni is an isekai story too, only it was a young boy transported. In that case, he WAS the main character.
I don't know, I still felt he has a strong supportive role. It's his experience from back in our world that makes him an excellent advisor to the fledgling king Evan. I guess the story is silly, you know, young boy wanting world peace. But given the state of the real world I find that kind of niave optimism to be a welcome relief to be honest.
He's the viewer for this world. The nuke stuff makes sense if you play it awhile. Since it represents the moment the otherworld changed for the darker. In otherwords. The kings copy died in that nuke.
That said, it didn't really bother me, since spoilers, as soon as Roland pulls out a literal gun and starts blasting I was like damn okay this is anachronistic in a fun 'schlock' way.
I also disagree slightly in that I think even though 'Evan' or whatever his name is (I am not a fan of the aggressive localization of the translation, I would have preferred if they kept things closer to what they actually were in the original Japanese) maybe supposed to feel like the protagonist, but given the events of the end of the game, I would argue the game has two protagonists...
I'll refrain from writing too much here but yeah I would at least say, refunding JUST because of the isekai element seems a little premature... but I wouldn't really recommend the game anyway, just according to my personal taste, so I guess you're not missing out on that much.
Wait this is a thread from 2018? Who resurrected this and why???
