How to reset settings?
I turned on HDR while testing my new TV and now the game seems to be in a permanent state of trying to change the resolution or something. I'm not entirely sure what it's doing but I want to reset my settings to default. I've tried deleting the data.bin located in <Steam-folder>\userdata\<user-id>\589360\remote\SYSTEM\ but that does nothing.

It SEEMS like maybe the settings are held in the steam cloud save file, which, if that's the case that's a huge mistake. I'm not sure why they would think that is a good idea.

Anyway, does anyone know of a way resetting the video settings so I can actually play the game? If it means deleting my cloud save then I'm done with the game as I'm not restarting and putting all those hours back in.

Thanks in advance!

And all that show up about issue is only this one thread.
Just found how to fix:
go to Level-5 Inc.\Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom in registry and change ScreenMode into 1 (borderless window), so HDR will disable and game will run finally.

Hope it will help to others, sorry for my bad english.

Reinstalling the game did nothing. I'm guessing the system settings are stored in the cloud save. Hilarious game breaking bug. Either I delete the save and choose to never play the game again due to hours of data loss or I can never play again due to it just not working.

@loganjamesalex as I mentioned in my original post I have already tried deleting that file but it does nothing.

You can just spam alt + enter until the game goes into window mode too.

Since this is the only google result to this here is another solution that worked for me:

Right-click on your game and select Properties.

Click on the Set Launch Options button.
It will open a new window with advanced user warning.
Enter the following parameters to open the game in windowed mode.

–windowed

Click OK to save the changes and close the Properties window.
Try launching the game and check if the game launches in windowed mode.

If it does not, press alt+enter while it launches.

Another option is to connect your pc to a non-hdr monitor to see if the app recognizes it.

you just have to press alt enter to get out of full screen mode, after that you get a normal picture again and can go to the settings

The common command ALT+Enter so many uses. Full screen when watching a video on your browser or making game borderless game today need minizing,
ctrl+c copy
ctrl+v paste
so many simple multi use function from the 80's

No I meant the registry thing worked for me, not the alt enter. It was stuck in some kind of limbo from trying to use hdr

How do I get to the registry and find it to disable HDR?

Literally cannot disable HDR in game even if I get it to launch windowed. The game auto switches it to HDR no matter what I do.

I’ve been doing this for 40 min now trying to get this game to work and I’m about to punch through the TV.

I was doing this before I went into work as well.
