We have 2018, but are still using cliches from 30 years ago...
Okay, so this will be a spoiler for the people who haven't finished the intro, aka round about the first hour of the game:

Nella dies by suiciding and standing in the middle of the fckn flamebreath like the most braindead PoS, instead of diving in, snatching the catboi, rolling away from the flames. I mean...ffs, it is shown that she is experienced in combat...but she decides that dying for drama would be more important i guess? And i love how it apparently was a lethal breath attack, but she seems to die from mild dirtyness on her cheek and leg.

Can we...oh, i don't know, maybe get a different result if we literally haven't lost even one HP during the battle?

And yeah, i am :steamsalty::salt:. Because it basically means that there will be absolutely no narrative surprise, since the tutorial area already has shown fortune-cookie-levels of innovation in story telling. Pretty much this: https://img-9gag-fun.9cache.com/photo/aAxeDOg_460s.jpg

The guys from The Know were ♥♥♥♥ing all over this game and how amaaaaazing it was, yet one hour in and we get smacked across the face with cutscene logic.

And it's not even sad to any degree, it's just annoying and frustrating, because there is clearly an interesting character, who would probably have a lot to tell. Somebody who is badass and experienced and a fckn asset. And from what i can miraculously guess, we will get instead a bunch of walking cliches. Probably some old, musclebound geezer a la Reinhardt, some cocky aint-needin-no-man girl, an egocentric pretty-boy and a "nerd", aka 110% ablebodied combat mage (but he wears glasses)

P.S. And don't anybody fckn dare to come with "A hero's journey tho" - The Last Remnant had shown perfectly well how it can be done with some actual impact and not just "stone falls on head" in the intro.

Thought she had to stand in it to block it from hitting Evan? Oh well.

She pushed him to the side...then stood somehow infront of him. And come the hell on - a slim body is not really something you can block out a flamethrower with. A bullet, or a slash? Fair enough. But not a cone of flames ffs. That's now how physics physic.

I agree, she didn't have to die there at all, but experienced people still make mistakes I suppose. Although, you have plenty of mistakes of your own in your writing and you should know "suiciding" isn't a word because suicide isn't a verb.

Uhm, she did have to die there. Its clichee yet she set her dead flag earlier. People like you cant even understand why she did this. It wasnt only because she was in your eyes stupid. She did it because the wannabe trap king needed this to actualy grow stronger. She knew with her around that she (its a trap so she!) couldnt become the king the world needs at this point. As Roland said : it takes courage and stuff that trapking simply didnt have at this point.

So again : she set up her own dead by her own words early on (you cant mess with goddess neptune on this, she would have killed her if she would have survived as its a universal law in anime/games!) yet this was needed not because one less char to worry about by the dev's but for trapking evan to GROW

If you had a book you really liked in the beginning, but then at page 100 or so there is sh*t smeared across pages...would you care? I mean, clearly a book with sh*t in it isn't for you after all. The reason why i care is because the game was supposed to have some awesome narrative (which in the day and age of "Everything has to be GoT / Witcher 3" is pretty rare), but turned out to be the same old trope-fest.

By that logic all parents should make the sensible choice for their kids and kill themselves, so their offspring can collectively become Batman.

And she was already presumed dead, so all she had to do was to go into hiding. She had no idea who the stranger was and probably only trusted him on intuition alone and since she had no real choice.

And we all saw where it almost ended like 30 minutes down the line BECAUSE they didn't have somebody experienced with them. You know, somebody who maybe already activated some of the teleporters.

That's like shooting yourself in the head, so you can participate in the paralympics due to brain damage. It MIGHT work, but the success rate is not exactly on your side.

http://www.dictionary.com/browse/suiciding?s=t

While a noun is not a verb (congratulations on this discovery), you can turn it into a verb. It is then called a neologism. English isn't exactly the most rigid language. Russian and German are way more complicated in that regard.

Now, the thing is - speaking 3 languages makes prone to grammar errors now and then, but allows to generally speak with a certain amount of precision in word and text.

Likewise, being a combat experienced killer should allow to get out of the fckn way of a monster that telegraphs it's attack for about 3,5 months OR get the VIP out of harms way before it starts roasting.

No, she should have died a horrible burning death. That would go over well in a children's game.

Because threatening to throw someone down a chasm and let crows feed on their corpses or shooting somebody in the eye is pretty much Dora The Explorer levels of friendliness.

I actually started laughing when she jumped infront of the attack, looked like some sort of bad paraody from DBZ when piccolo jumped infront of nappas attack in order to shield Gohan.
