=SOLVED= Side Quest 117 (Smelly Shoes)

Anyone completed this quest?
I spent a whole day for maze running but still -_-^

Did anyone find out another way to get smelly/stinky shoes by now? Farmed the Grotto like 10 times now and nothing. Not a single cursed item at all. I made sure to not get more rare items via the tactica tweaker.

I have the same problem here... I've grinded the stupid grotty grotto for hours and still nothing. Do you know if only grotty grotto trader sell the shoes or any trader will do? I rather farm faraway cave if possible.

cheat engine

that defeats the purpose of beating the game and doing the quest.. sure you can use cheat engine.. for that matter just use Sam and boost your hours and achievements, then delete the game.. watch youtube videos..

doing something yourself brings about a sense of accomplishment which cheating just won't give you.. why play the game if you're just going to cheat and get everything you want..

I found it on Grotty Grotto maze chest. So it's confirmed the chest can give you smelly shoes.
In my case, the dog merchant never showed up till the end.
Stupid... dog... mumble mumble...

I found that I have 2 pairs of difference shoes. Dream doors progress 3/9.

this isnt everything i want. this is a stupid quest that you get at level 50 that wants a level 3 item. i highly doubt this was intentional

i didn't even complete it, but it's possible to edit items to smelly

this isnt everything i want. this is a stupid quest that you get at level 50 that wants a level 3 item. i highly doubt this was intentional

i didn't even complete it, but it's possible to edit items to smelly

I got what you're saying, but in all honesty cheating just kinda defeats the purpose,, but I can understand why someone who's grinding would want to just knock it out the box

Someone claims to have found some in chests if you didn't loot them in previous instances

Do Grotto and make sure to fight the boss. He drops silky shoes or something and one of the possible tags is stinky. While farming the boss, you can also check for the merchants, but NPC is widely varied and there's different merchants too.

It's not cheating if you just add an item which you've grinded hours for and should already have gotten.

Can the merchant even appear in the Grotto maze? Never seen any NPC in that maze, but there's always at least one in longer/harder mazes.

I never saw the dog merchant during 2 days of Grotto maze run. But I could easily find him other mazes. So...

I never got the discount merchant in my runs (got another merchant multiple times), and I ended up getting silky shoes from the boss. One thing i forgot to mention is that the boss drop does not label itself as "stinky". You have to check yourself in inventory. I have all upgrades, but I turned tactics away from equipment (not sure if that helps).

He does appear, but his stuff is mostly healing items. Met him 4 times already, and he only once had a different assortment of items - got super expensive food items. Started farming those darn boots and 54 hours into the game, now I'm at 79 hours and counting.
