Head to head in hydropolis quest broken af

So this quest is basicly a race against a kid that runs faster than you and you are supposed to take a shortcut to win agains him however, not only does he run faster but his finish line comes way earlier than yours so if you are ahead of him by 5 seconds he still wins in the cutscene because it triggers too early.

It's not broken - it's very easy. Run together with child but don't follow him: turn to the left to the market area and head to the right. You'll see stairs (there is guardian standing right next). Go up stairs (but don't go to the top). On the first floor (you'll see boxes) turn to the right and you'll get to the broken bridge. Head straight to the end and jump. Turn to the right and you'll see another kid.

I just barely outran him in the end by jumping over the broken railing, took me a lot of tries tough but thx :P
