anyone figure out the secret to getting Golden Balls?
Played 80 hours, have managed to get 40 of them.. He just never seems to drop them outside of boss fights, and even then it's kind of a crap shoot and hit or miss.. Is their a way to make them drop more often.. I tried to do dreamer doors Level 5, and just block, but the AI just crushes the enemies and the fight doesn't last long enough to actually get a ball..

Any tips? Need 10 more and at this rate it'll take me another 10 hours or more and that's too much..

I am trying to get golden balls by fighting tropical fangfish at Dryland.
You can run away before fangfish die to keep you low level.(optional)

will check into that, but pretty sure I've outleveled just about anything on the world map aside from tainted and Kingmakers.. The Dream door is alright if it's like level 5, but they still die far faster then it takes for Lofty to drop his golden balls..

Might have to wait for some DLC to get the achievement at this rate.. Was hoping to finish this game off and jump over to far cry 5..

If this is for the Wide Awake trophy, much easier to replay the Final Boss and keep charging with Lofty. Won't show in your stats, but does count towards the trophy. You'll need to get 1 golden ball afterwards though to pop the trophy.

I've had relative success with replaying the Kingmaker bosses, though mileage may vary.

got mine fighting dragpns over and over, they have enough health to make last long enough for a ball to trigger

that doesn't count toward the achievement.. I thought it would so I did it, and my total stayed at 38, the final boss doesn't actually count toward the achievement from what I can tell..

I'm fighting Floode level 78 tainted, he has easily telegraphed attacks, I've managed to get a few balls that way already,, although only one per fight.. have to run away.. not sure if you can get more than one, or what attacks actually increase your chances.. I've been using ranged attacks

Maybe the final boss does work.. I just got the achievement a minute ago.. only picked up 43 gold balls.. I fought the boss twice, and the amount of times I used Lofty in those two kills was likely around 7..

If that's the case, I guess the final boss would be the best way as you can get an infinite amount of them on the boss as long as you don't kill him. and the final boss isn't really much of a threat as far as killing you goes.

It's pretty much as I mentioned previously, you won't see it being tracked in the stats but it is internally tracked/counted.

The final boss is the quickest way by far since you can just count how many times you've done it up to 49 and pop the last one with a Golden Ball.

I think, maybe they get thrown more if you actually NEED the help; when you are fighting strong monsters. You might try waring weaker armor and using weaker weapons. I can’t confirm this. It’s just a thought.

Fighting level 90-100 monsters on faraway forest maze did it for me. Collected around 10 golden orbs down there a few levels before the final one.

90 hours in I hade like 32 gold balls. I tries grinding in Faraway Forest, but in one looong run I was lucky if I got 2 gold balls. Once I got 3.

What worked for me was equipping weak higgedies and weapons for my allies (keeping the armor) and then fighting dragons in the south west while just waiting around and watching the small yellow guy. Before the dragon was killed I fled the fight to avoid leveling up. I got gold balls 5 fights in a row this way. Got the platinum at 46 gold balls.

The stupid things one do when hunting trophies/achivements lol...
