Level danger Dreamer maze

Does level danger matter for better weapon/armor drops? or better drops are only droppable at higher floor (20 +)

I tried increasing it to 5 in grotty grotto and noting changed in the items quality. Still i may have missed something.

I noticed each floor tended to drop better gear than the previous floors

Its a floor thing. Level 5 Danger just means the enemies are going to take longer to kill.
