Is there going to be NO single player?
I promised myself never to buy a multiplayer only game again after being burned so many times by dead games. Is a campaign being planned?

No. Holdfast: Nations at War is a purely multiplayer game. Sorry to disappoint you. But if you are looking for something similar to Holdfast, check out Mount and Blade Warband. It has a single player and Multiplayer mode.

Mount and Blade is one of my favorite games, I was hoping this might tide me over until Bannerlord comes out in 2039. I'm too afraid of the game community disappearing and having another unplayable game sitting in my library.

aww, you have no friends to play with? that feels surely bad, you have my sympathy.

The game is currently £15 which is roughly what I paid for it about a year ago. If the game died tomorrow I'd have had more than my monies worth. You could take a chance and refund in less than 3 hours if you don't like it or you could wait until there's another sale. I doubt there will be a single player but the multiplayer is good. Community are mostly good people. Public server games are a fun free for all. Line Battles offer a more organised experience. Also re multiplayer it doesn't really require a massive skill level to get involved from the start. It's not like COD or Battlefield where the pace is frenetic, we are using muskets so it's quite slow paced in comparison.

Right now the closest thing to single player would be the bots which can only move in random directions. They can’t shoot, stab, stand still, etc. and every time they die they respawn as a different class.
That at least shows that there could be some potential for single player in the distant future once all the higher priority updates are made

Jesus Christ, wipe the tears off your keyboard, why are you so mad about someone not liking an aspect of a videogame?

lol it's the internet, though judging by their profile that may be an attempt at sympathy
a very cold and insensitive one

"Fight on multiple fronts in Holdfast: Nations At War - A competitive multiplayer first and third person shooter set during the great Napoleonic Era. Charge into battle with over 150 players per server!"

That is the description. There is no single player planned. If you've had a bad experience with multiplayer games, then I suggest you don't buy this as it is multiplayer only. They aren't going to make a single player campaign just for you, sorry bud.

/thread.

Odd resurrection, but yes plenty of people still play online.
A single player mode, at least with bots would be welcome.

Although as was said, after the latest updates many more are jumping on, we're getting accustomed to the game where those numbers may not last.

A bot mode, at least something SP would be welcome.

this game has had roughly the same amount of players since 2018, it is not dying anytime soon
