Ah, so you are saying the song is called "chasing borneo pirates" ?
But jokes aside thanks for the heads up on the real title of that track
No coincidence I'm a big Misfits fan right up to American Psycho, and even Famous Monsters had some good moments. The band are a bit of a joke now doing the reunion stuff with Danzig for a shed load of cash, but I don't blame them for cashing in. I often put 77 after stuff just because it's largely regarded as being a significant date in punk, but it also links to the Clash being Reggae fans and particularly the Two Sevens Clash LP by Culture (Reggae group featuring Sly and Robbie Dunbar). My fave band is prbably Bad Religion nowadays altho the band that started it all for me was the Ramones.
Hey nice one dude yeah everything they did up until American Psycho is pure gold for me, and I don't blame 'em at all for cashing in on their legacy (of brutality, heh), good on 'em I say. Love BR too, I got to see them twice, once during Recipe for Hate (i think) and once a few years ago at some cheesey punk festival in Blackpool, they were pure quality. I never really dug the Ramones tbh, but I know an absolute ♥♥♥♥ ton of people who do. I'll always have a special place for NOFX too, so them, BR and Misfits make up the unholy trinity at the top of muh'favourites.
NOFX now your talkin. Only seen them once but great band. Have you read the Hepititus bathtub ? NOFX auto biography. Seen Bad Religion a few times, saw Misfits a few times but sadly not with Glen.
I didn't read it dude but I "acquired" the audiobook read out by the band, they each read their own sections, its fckin awesome. There's some guest appearences too, like Jelo Biafra, too cool for school man. But yeah great book. Smelly's story is fcking wild. And I never got to see Misfits ever and probably never will, heart-breaker, but I did see Danzig in, like, 1990-91 in fcking Bradford of all places, ha ha that was pure magic! He was all devil-rock belt buckle thrusts and growling black thunder ha ha, ah... 11/10 legend of a dude he is.
Wasn't Bradford Rios was it ?
I had to go away and consult with an old pal whose memory is much better than mine about this - he can remember stuff a lot better than me, heh. Apparently it wasn't 1990-91 it was 1992 at the Queens Hall in Bradford, England. Skyclad were the support (chuckle). Why he wanted to play Bradford I'll never, ever know. The ways of the dark lord are mysterious indeed. Maybe the ghost of Elvis told him to do it? I don't know, but it was a f u c k i n g awesome show!
