Bot Support?
Had my eye on this game for a while and the main thing holding me back from getting it is whether bots have been properly implemented.

I asked this question a while back in 2018, but at the time it seems bots weren't really functional. https://steamcommunity.com/app/589290/discussions/0/1744480967019835329/

Has anything changed with the bots? Does the game now have properly functioning bots (so that its possible to play the game against bots, both on your team and the opposing team)

I dont think there are, but whats wrong with multiplayer? Bots even if they were good, would choose specific places to go and react in ways which just became rediculously predictable over time. Humans always react individually and often bizarrely, which makes each battle different in MP.

Some people are working on Bots ATM. It will be through modded servers.

To each there own. I respect that people prefer PvP games.

Personally, and as a general statement (not specific to this game because I haven't played it), I prefer bot mode (at at least coop mode/PvE) rather than PvP games. This is largely a function of age (ie. I don't have too much time for gaming, so I can't keep up with people who have hours to sink into games memorising maps to get the advantage on the 'best spots). But other personal reasons are that I find in PvP games ping issues can also create an unbalanced experience; in PvP games (depending on where the bulk of the player base is located) you may not be able to get proper game without any bots to fill in slots; and in PvP games, the ability to play/enjoy the game often ends with the 'majority' of people move on.

That said, I recognise programming bots is not easy and likely time-consuming and costly, so I guess developers need to focus on what they think will give them the biggest return on their time and investment - the hope that the game catches on and a large sustained PvP player base plays for a long time, or spending time/cost developing bots to give the game a possible smaller but lasting impact, or doing both (like the original Insurgency) and possibly have the best of both worlds.
