Can someone explain the classes?

I've played Line infantry, musicians and surgeon. Other than those, what exactly are all the different classes? How do they differ in any way?
Hopefully someone who's spent enough time on the game can give my a quick breakdown of everything.

Musicians give buffs while playing and flag bearers give buffs when they have a flag out. Surgeons can heal wounded friendlies and enemies, and everyone else is the same besides weapons. Carpenters get shotguns, riflemen get rifles, and officers and surgeons get pistols and swords.
