Swords vs. Bayonets?
It seems that stabbing someone with a bayonet isn't killing quite like how it used to in NW, and I'm seeing way more sword kills on non-RP servers. If I go into combat with a bayonet against someone with a sword, it usually goes in this order:

1. First hit with bayonet, +10 points
2. Opponent staggers for a split second then swings with their sword
3. As I ready up another poke, opponent swings once more
4. Dead

In NW, you would never use swords unless you were very experienced with them. Bayonets almost always killed instantly in that game and I heard that Holdfast was directly inspired by NW. Is it just because it's in alpha and they're not quite sure what's best for balancing yet? For now, using a sword is what I'll be doing and I'm seeing my score improve quite a bit already.

I dont know about weapon balancing in this game, but i can provide links on some historical discussion around sword and bayonet use in the 19th century that may explain the differencce between the two weapons more cleary (in a historical ccontext anyway).
