Dreadhalls

Dreadhalls

Rocky May 14, 2017 @ 2:58pm
I'm 50, I should not be this scared.
I hesitated to buy Dreadhalls because the screenshots looked a little basic, but in game I was immediately satisfied with the graphics, but holy sh*t I was not prepared for the tension.

The reviews talked about big dogs and a witch so I knew what to expect but I did not expect to be scared.

I was running down corridors frantically trying to look behind to see if I was being chased!!

My heart rate monitor says I got up to 83 BPM, thats 20 more than my resting heart rate.

When I went to bed, my wife was chuckling away to herself, apparantly she could hear me downstairs on the VR "OH! OH! AAAAAA...!!!!"

Great stuff, well worth a few pounds.

100% scares the hell out of me too. The level of immersion is really off the charts.

Same, I'm 28, ex Royal Irish Regiment. Couldn't tear my headset off fast enough.

Probably a good idea to play sitting down or else there's a pretty good risk of panic running straight into a wall.

I'm 47, was playing it last night when my wife and daughter were asleep. Love the game, very scary. VR is incredible, you keep on believing you're actually there even after more than a year of VR usage :).

I wonder what horror will be like when two things evolve : extremely realistic graphics (obviously), and a very wide FOV (180 degrees or more). Currently, it's still possible to hide a bit because you only see 110 degrees but imagine seeing exactly the same as in real life... I'm worried that people are actually going to die of heart attacks in the future while playing horror in VR...

Maybe they should monitor heart rate while playing ;)

44, bought it yesterday on the Oculus Store and played it for hours. Had to put it away because my stomach was in a knot from all the scares :D
Today was a very sad day when I finished it. Gonna wait a few weeks and do it again :)

You finished it in one day? I'll need to fire this game back up and give it another go so I can add to to my very small list of "completed" games in my very large library lol.

You're sure she didn't assume pornography?

Easily the scariest game I have ever played.

It deserves more attention! Such a great game!
