Did they changed Monokuma's Japanese VA?
He clearly sounds different here, especially his trademark "Upupupu"

from what ive heard, the old jp VA for monokuma was an old man, and before he could work on this game he started to go senile and is no longer capable of working.

Woah, seriously? I never thought his VA is an old guy. The current VA is fine but not as menacing as his predecessor.

Monokuma's japanese voice actor is not a guy, but an old woman; it's actually that of Doraemon. They changed Monokuma's voice actor since the previous one was too old and not able to work further.

Holy sh*t, you're not kidding. I just looked up an episode of an un-dubbed Doraemon on YT and he seriously sound like a non-psychotic Monokuma.

Now he is not only Zero III (Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward), but also Monokuma II (The second jp CV)...

Actually, Monokuma's first Japanese VA is some ill granny (I'm not insulting anyone) and she became unable to complete acting any of her roles. So sad.

The original Monokuma japanese voice actress Ooyama Nobuyo suffers from Dementia associated with Alzheimer's disease. she retired from voice acting back in 2015.

The English voice sounds odd too. Like, he sounds like Monokuma, but his inflections sound completely different.

With those cringe lines the demo had I feel bad for people who actually think this.

Anyway original VA's monokuma suffered from Dementia so she had to step down from voicing him in the animation and this game. A bit of a shame but what can we do?
