Yes, I already made that assessment. Hence the refund. Also, the shadow creep IS a time limit.
You realise you can fight the Shadow, correct?
If you're strong enough to teleport around while fighting it to explore the nodes, there should be no problem.
But hey, your money.
AND, no, it is not a time limit. The game doesn't end once the shadow gets to you, you only get attackaed by a strong creature.
The proper parlance is a Beefgate; Something so insurmountable in the beginning and middle that it requires grinding, cutscene powers to the max, and/or an eleventh-hour superpower designed to deal with troops of that type.
Functionally, the Shadow is a moderately strong enemy that's about .70% of the power of Dark World demons -- not impossible to kill with an avg of 230~HP in the endgame, but meant to be a motivator for making you choose to travel the nodes wisely and mantain a healthy balance between powerleveling and item aquisition.
So really, it's less of a timelimit and more of a carrot/stick dynamic of incentive: "You better not waste your time and make mistakes, or you're not going to be able to touch these nodes without fighting this strong enemy."
All in all, it's good design philosophy; Sure, you can teleport from them place to place, but you won't be able to evade a batter forever as a magetype, and all classes will have to wade into them to get to the Stone Arch to access Endings #3~5 anyways, so it's par the course for an endgame enemy.
There's another trope to describe enemies of this type: Demonic Spiders.
The Shadow keeps hammering you with strong enemies without giving you sufficient time to recover between fights. In my game it overwhelmed me and ended my progress. It IS a time limit. That's how the developer wanted his/her game to work and that's fine. It's not a mechanic I want in games I play. This is also fine. Stop trying to convince me that my opinion is wrong.
Never said your opinion is wrong, I explained the mechanic behind it, and pointed out the difference between a hard 0 sum limit, and a soft cap that can be worked around, if not ignored with the correct build.
I did so, twice.
Your attitude and dislike of the system was noted and accepted.
Stop being a rude troglodyte.
I don't care about the game theory terminology you're throwing around, but I did report your post for the name calling.
