What do you do when there's a cauldron with falling food?

I never win this event. I don't understand what you need to do.

I tried only allowing "good" food, but it is not clear what should go in and what should not.

Then why i score like -10 to Hunger after the levels when teh cauldron appears, even if i only allow meat and chicken and he says, like "perfect!" when i finish the cauldron event? I don't get the point of rats/warriors/cauldron events - they seem to only decrease related Horseman's score (like if i get a penalty for winning the events, wtf?)

That's because in the end Hunger, War and Plague scores are SUBTRACTED from your highscore (Death's points), so lowering them leads to higher hiscore. But I do agree that mechanics is a bit confusing.
