nice, that fixed the issue on deck for me. Any possibility however that the game will in the future support 21:9?
i'd say, nope. it's been asked for a while, but i doubt it will be done. i heard there is a mod for it. search for "ultrawide" in the forum. you should be able to find the thread. if i remember right, link is in there.

It works, you need to press B A buttons on keyboard, not jump n roll.
you enter the Konami code while being in a level (NOT the menu) and you don't need start. but it is BA on the controller. not sure about kb+m though.

well why i'm asking cuz i'm doing it and not sure which controls it reads as correct, especially that on keyboard there are 2 sets of directional controls (both WSAD and arrows) also on keyboard up alsow works as input for jump so it might be causing the issue here

hm, ok. definitely easier with a controller. konami code and the game. i know some can't use controllers, but i could never play DC with kb. i tried, but it feels awkward and just wrong.

I don't even have controler at hand to try and use it for that, also feels like big oversight to not think of a good way to make it work on keyboard considering PC players are fairly big chunk of player base

well, the vast majority of similar games are all made with controller in mind and oftentimes tell you. DC also tells you. controllers are pc hardware since the early days though. so saying it is not for pc is, sorry, plain BS... platformers will always have controllers in mind and play better with them.

Well for how much i played this game i never felt like keyboard wasn't treated seriously as control method, also if game can support it as control method there should be a way to unlock content like this with such method, rather than having to plug in (or in my case actually purchae) controller just for that
also done some testing with changing bindings and looks like issue is deeper than with just jump being default under up input, got rid of jump there and still nothing,even when i also got rid of movment from under A key to test the B A keys rather than roll jump

implementing it was not a thing before, hence why they maybe didn't have kb in mind. but tbh... the weapon is pretty meh imho. only did one run, but it was weird to control.

edit: i tried DC with kb and it's a big fat NOPE for me.

ok controls preferences out of the way(like even if i had controler i played on keboard and mouse for so long transition would be rough just becouse of that), still my point is that if they want to lock content behind easter egg input they need to make it work on all supported control methods, no otherwise it's locking content behind specific hardware really, so not a customer friendly move

nvm it worked just had to do inputs fast... still feels fairly clunky but yeah

Oddly, I get input delay when using the linux version on my deck. I kinda feel it during gameplay but really notice it in menus (e.x the custom game settings) However enabling compatibly mode with proton 7.0-6, the input delay is gone. Anyone else experience this?

That's funny because for a platformer like Celeste, most of the pros say keyboard is better. Though this is talking Grandmaster level gameplay and speedrunning.

Though I personally have a rough time using keyboards with platformers.

whole different type of platformer with much less inputs. yes, in some cases it might be better, but generally, they're for controllers. i also play some with kb+m when you have a crosshair to aim for example. i tried DC with kb and it just doesn't feel right.
speedrunners are also not the main audience for devs. also, with exceptions obviously. but the majority are not speedrunners.
