Is there any way to save in the middle of a run so I can come back later, or do I have to finish an entire run in one sitting?

It saves automatically when you enter a zone so you can quit and load it when you come back later.

Oh awesome, thanks. As I am getting better my runs are getting longer and I haven't wanted to quit in case I lost my progress. At least know I know its safe once I reach the end of the level.

As far as I’m aware it’ll just save wherever you are and reload it when you come back. I’ve saved mid combat multiple times before, though that’s usually a bad idea because then you have to remember that on return. It’s possible there may be some platform discrepancy though, I don’t know if every version does that. Best way to know for sure would to see if it saves your position. If you always reload coming through a door, it’s probably only saving your zone, but if it loads you standing somewhere in the level, it’s saving everything like it does for me.
