Outfits are purely cosmetic and very expensive. In fact, they originally were introduced to give veteran players running 5 BSC something to unlock. Unless you really want them, they are not worth grinding for.
If you already have several weapons and skills you enjoy, I think you don't need to grind out more. Chances are they're either not as good or you just don't enjoy them as much, so you end up disabling most unlocks via Custom Mode anyway (at least that's how it went for me). If you are still looking for more alternatives, it's nice to unlock blueprints and check them out though. But once you have the basic skills (flask charges, merchant categories, tubes) no single blueprint will give you much of a boost for any given difficulty level. Not really worth it to grind until you have *all* unlocked imo.
But if you do want to grind - 2 BSC gives you 2x cells, 4 BSC gives you 3x cells. So once you can handle the difficulty it would be "optimal" to grind on 4 BSC.
