Stuck in Fractured Shrines

Hi, I'm new and still playing my first few runs and ended up in the fractured shrines biome. I haven't "beaten" a run yet, and don't know much about this game. I've cleared out the area, but cant seem to find any way to progress? After reading a little online it seems like I need to throw my head at a monk costume, which I can't do yet (don't have that ability){. Does this mean this run is at a dead end and I need to just restart to a new one? Thanks for any advice-

At the far right of this biome is a door which you can only pass if you're wearing the cultist outfit. If you don't have this outfit then there's an elevator right before this door that takes you to Clock Tower. You can take this exit even if you're not wearing the cultist outfit.
If you haven't beaten the game yet you don't have an ability that lets you possess one of the cultist corpses in the fractured shrines which automatically puts you in a cultist outfit. That means the only way to access the Undying Shores biome is by unlocking the cultist outfit with the Collector and going to Fractured Shrines on the next run.
