Cursed before a boss
The cursed chests are an interesting idea.. until this happens.

2 enemies needed to lift the curse, no enemies left on the floor, no possibilty of seeing it coming.

This is exactly what just happened to me before I went into the Clock Room.

Got bodied immediately.

POSSIBLE FIXES:

- Before a cursed chest is opened, tell the player if there are at least 10 enemies left on the floor.

- Give the player the option to purge a curse (for a price) in the transitional area. (Every enemy can be worth 2000, so if you have 10 enemies left it's 20,000 to purge).

- Postpone the effects of a curse during a boss fight.

- Allow Ygdar Orus Li Ox to save you from a death by curse (I was holding it at the time)

- ALL OF THE ABOVE!?

Or... don’t take the cursed chest, its an optional risk in a run and you should be making sure you have the enemies the floor to kill if you want to remove it then and there. You can no hit all the bosses in the game aswell making their fights with a curse do-able (not easier but still possible).

Isn't it a LITTLE rich to suggest running through the ENTIRETY of the level simply to make sure there will be enough enemies to satisfy the requirments for the cursed chest, THEN run all the way back to the cursed chest (with an army of teleporting enemies behind you, as would be the case on the clock tower) just to open it? I'm down with a challenge but that would just be a silly waste of my time.

I understand that I didn't have to open it, I accepted the risk... but the only thing this experience is going to teach me is to NEVER open another cursed chest again.

WHY would I? I'm not going to run around counting the number of enemies on the floor, are you crazy?

You don’t need to run through counting enemies, you just need to simply keep a well sized area on the map in mind that you haven’t cleared that you don’t need to do yet. That’s what I’ve learnt when it comes to cursed chests.

That doesn't really help, I remember a time where I ran through the Ossuary for what felt like a minute straight without encountering any enemies. The randomness of the level generation doesn't actually guarantee that any enemies will spawn. It's probably a good idea to just avoid cursed chests before a boss fight... oh, and idk what you've been smoking, but there's no way I'm beating the assassin without getting hit. Not unless I have a broken synergy.

You do you for everything else but the one part I want to respond to is the “what you’ve been smoking” part, Assassin is by far the easiest boss to no hit for me (emphasis on the me part) without broken synergies. Very simple attack patterns to dodge even without rolling and they’re well telegraphed. Only reason the incomplete one isn’t the easiest no hit for me is his red aura having a mind of its own.
