Upgrades for Rusty Sword
Title says it all. I prefer to play with the Rusty Sword. It'd be cool if there was some sort of an upgrade for it (maybe there is and I don't know? Only played about 9 hours so far). Anyone else prefer the default weapon to the other options? Second choice for me is Rapier.

It's supposed to be inferior to other weapons, so you get the upgrade to replace it with something else.

i actually think it should be weaker...give me a stick. force me to pick anything and everything up to defend myself with. would be so much more xciting...sht let me punch my way through till i find a better weapon!

would be so awesome!

That would almost exclusively effect new players, since older players will have the random starting sword unlocked, and they're already at enough of a disadvantage.

have you ever seen the damage of the rusty sword? it is either just as strong as a lot of good weapons or way better than a lot of the trash being passed off as upgrades/better weapons.

also it is good for players to understand from the start that the game isnt easy, the introduction to the game is too fast paced. they have to understand the game is hard and that every piece of gear is important in its own way.

Yea I want my rusty sword back. When the game gives me twin daggers or a blood sword at start I just go no thanks. Oh right you probably don't know. If you pick the start with random melee weapon upgrade you lose the ability to ever use the rusty sword again so I'd not touch that till it gets fixed XD

I think that the rusty sword is a good weapon, it's a pity that after the upgrade you never get it again. I probably would have left in the random pool of weapon. Also it has a peculiar 3 hit combo that no other weapon I unlocked so far has. I think that like other weapon could be dropped by some enemy with upgrade stat like other weapon

Yeah and the combo with the Rusty Sword is I believe uninterrupted, or at least the pause is really brief so you can stun and swing away (Merrill). I purposely avoided the 75 cell random weapon upgrade 'cause I like my Rust too much. I usually prefer to go with Ice Bow or Spike Shield in the secondary slot.

Yeah the problem with a lot of the unlocks is that they're not any good but they fill your loot tables anyway. If I could go back in time and not unlock some weapons like the Assassin's Dagger, I'd totally do that.
