Game froze in loading screen when entering Throne Room

Came back to try out the bank update, and the game froze when I was entering the Throne Room level (few seconds into the loading screen). I closed the game and tried to continue the run again 5 times, and every time it seemed to freeze at the same moment.

I have 700+ hours in Dead Cells and this has never happened before, so I would imagine the update has broken something. I didn't have any of the new stuff from the update, but I had gone through the bank during the run (it replaced corrupted prison level). Was playing on 4BC.

I am getting freezing on loading screen as well. It does work sometimes but seems to fail more than work. First time I have seen this.

Went for the throne room again, and once again it freezes in the loading screen. So it looks to be a consistent problem. Last time I entered it from the distillery, this time from the giant fight (hoping it would make a difference, guess not).

Have you tried verifying your game files?

Verifying game files did seem to fix the problem (had to redownload 1 file). Never had that happen before, maybe something went wrong with the patching process.
