Can't Use Homunculus Rune

What the title says. I have the rune, I even used it during this run when fighting a couple baddies. Now I'm stuck in the Ancient Sewers part, but every time I press V, it just has a red symbol flash over my head, and doesn't let me use the rune.

Bear in mind, I've been to this part before, even got the blueprint before dying. I know I have the rune and that it works, but for whatever reason, no amount of pressing V or doing anything is activating it.

Anything I'm missing, or just a bug?

I am having the exact same problem. Commenting the hopefully boost the visibility on this. When I got this blueprint before - I forgot to go to the forgemaster at the end of the level to confirm so I need to get it again. Plus I'm having a great run and don't want to restart.

are you perhaps cursed at the time, you can't use it while cursed

Hmm, actually yes, I think I was cursed. Some clear indication of the curse affecting the rune probably should be added, because I looked all through the menus for a reason, but at least now I know what was up. Thanks, mate!
