Cannot leave throne room

I found the throne room for the first time, defeated the boss, and now I cannot leave the room. Is this intended?

The only objects I see are:
- the lance The Hand dropped (I am not interested in this weapn, and I cannot sell it by pressing R)
- two narrow spike pits, each with a very narrow ice ledge at my head's level beside them,
- the king (I assume), who has an aura around him that looks like a force field (I guess the result of The Hand's spell at the start of the battle, and
- a fountain, at the very right of the room. This fountain, according to a post from Early Access, is expected to be the exit, but I cannot find a spot to interact with it.

Is there anything I missed, to exit this room?

Well ...

We may view this from different angles.

I view it as a player who has been trained by the game to choose if any dropped weapons are suitable for my current build. I had a double icebow / double crossbow-tower build, and the dropped lance does not exactly fit this build. When I tried to convert the lance to gold, the game only told me that this was not possible. Maybe a bug? So, I shrugged and tried to get out of the room.

I think the problem I had was that it was not obvious to me that I had arrived at the end of the game's branch, as the game expected mne to behave differently from the hundred played hours before.
