Dead Cell's No Longer Launches!

I was playing all of..4 hours ago. Left to get food, came back, watched some vids, booted up Dead Cells and get this error:

I have been getting the same error and I can't seem to play any other game at all either. I ran dxdiag and it seems that my DDI interface keeps reverting from directx 12 to 9 even thought I have a gtx 970. The only temporal fix is rebooting and It goes back to 12 which only last like 1 day then goes back to 9 again. 2 things I have done lately is updating nvidia driver to latest version and installing dead cells. I will post part of the dxdiag file cause of the 18000 characters limit.

I also got the error "Failed to initialize DirectX driver". After a reboot the problem seems to be fixed.

I'm not sure if the desciption raizonoir matches my probelm. Last things I did was upgrade to latest Microsoft 10 version:

the issue "failed to initialize directx driver" hasn't appeared since I reverted from the latest driver (397.31) to the previous one (391.35)with the help of DDU. My ddi interface appears as directx 12 as it should which allows me to run all of my games including dead cells. I'm going to keep playing and will post again here if I get the error again. *knocks on wood*

For me, apparently my room mate installed manycam..and apparently that program is SUCH crap that just having it installed (not even running) was preempting video drivers.

One uninstall later; fixed

Hey, just checking in. My machine is now running 44h and "failed to initialize directx driver" didn't appear again. Seems the reboot fixed the issue for me. But I'm also not sure if that wired DDI thing, mentioned by raizonoir, was happening on my machine.

Bottom Line: Do a reboot. Check your drivers. Maybe a graphic driver downgrade may help you out.

Ok. After 48h uptime the DDI bug happened on my machine. As described by : dxdiag report -> DDI Version: 9Ex -> Daed Cells "failed to initialize directx driver"

Problem solved after I closed MSI Afterburner/RivaTunerStatistics if this helps

Nice! Fixed it for me too. A million thanks, mate.

This seems to affect quite a number of games. Duke Nukem world tour has this issue and it's fixed the exact same way.

You deserve a medal really :)
