Cannot drop down through platforms, thus getting to a dead end in almost half my games.

I get stuck in a lot of levels just because the only way to continue would be to drop down through a platform (that has no chain on it) but I havent found out how to do it. Am I missing something obvious? I cant find a way to do it under controls, holding down, or trying to roll down is not working. I am using a keyboard, in case that makes a difference.

Oh I actually figured it out, it is a quick up-down combo. I'm not sure if thats common in these types of games but I havent encountered it before so I was very confused

Press down (S) and click jump (space)
