Another Ancient Sewers softlock? Gold recovery 5

I keep finding this area in the Ancient Sewers were there's this platform above some acid. You jump into the acid then roll through a fake wall on the right. You fall down a pit, and there's a gold recovery V upgrade below and a switch-locked door on the left. There seems to be a little tunnel above, but it seems inaccessible unless the player has the spider rune... which I don't at the moment. As far as I can tell, there seems to be no escape for players without the rune. I've put myself in this situation twice, and had to start the game over both times. What the heck?

I'm trapped there, too, and I HAVE the Spider Rune. I can't find a way out anywhere.
