[bug] ++ upgrade bar locked in Legendary Forge

I am playing using a converted save game with + items fully unlocked and 23 cells of ++ items unlocked. When I get to the Legendary Forge, after the Black Bridge, I can't spend any cells filling up the ++ bar. It's locked.

I have this too, I've unlocked all the bars, now they're relocked.

I've also lost some mutations.

Will these things carry over to my Stable save file?

ran into similar issue after upgrading to 1.1; found interesting comment in change log on their site (https://dead-cells.com/patchnotes#v11.0): "You can no longer access to superior forge rank if you don't have the required boss cells."

Could this be the root cause of the issues seen?

Ah so you think there are different (boss) cells for the next level then? I havent seen these boss cells yet but with the number of changes recently i wouldnt be surprised.

There are boss cells which are shown below the rune entries in your game slot. I think you receive those after defeating the final boss (hand of the king), i.e. completing the game.

Just checked that the upgrade level is also shown in info menu (my slot with 0 boss cells shows no forge upgrade options, the one with one boss cell allows upgrade to "+" quality; pretty sure that this mode continues with more boss cells).

The update to 1.1 completely messed up my current progress as I was already on S quality level and now cannot finish this level as boss cells are missing. Guess just a matter of time...hopefully.

Confirmed: Forge upgrade possibility is tight to difficulty level (# boss cells you select in the tube at the very beginning).
