Mimic's

Does anyone know the conditions for a shopkeeper to be a mimic? I thought it was the first item bought from a shopkeeper in the bank but I did a run and the mimic was a different shopkeeper from my first purchase.

One of the shops is always a mimic, but it’s random as to which shop. It is always activated by the first purchase attempt, so if you successfully buy something it means that shop wasn’t the mimic and it has to be one of the others.

No. The run seed probably controls it, so it would be decided as soon as you respawn.
