What is the sense of "Dead Inside" mutation?

You get bonus HP for a boss fight, then you re-roll.

I used it on the highest difficulty, using other mutations to regenerate (alienation and acceptance). (this was before the barrels'o fun update.)

why the hell would u run alienation and acceptance. I get that it sets the curse to 20 and then back to 10 while healing you, but alienation heals u PER enemy killed. so you actually want more enemies while cursed to heal more, picking both is anti-synergistic as ♥♥♥♥
