Builds for flawlessing bosses?
I'm trying to get the flawless achievement on 3 more bosses, them being the Servants, Queen and the spoiler boss, so naturally I'll use custom mode and I'm curious as to what build would be good.

I was thinking going Nerves of Steel, Rampart Shield, Ice Shield in backpack with Crusher and Ice Armor. With the mutations being Point Blank, Armadillopack and Instinct of the Master of Arms. Though I'm not really sure about Armadillopack/Ice Shield.

I'd say most of the gear is self-explanatory, but I'm chossing Nerves of Steel because it deals a large amount of damage and procs IotMoA so Crusher can be up always. It all seems good for all 3 bosses.

Also for Servants/Queen what BC level is the best? I was thinking trying it on 0 BC but maybe the larger damage of the higher BC levels is better.

Any thoughts on what I should change/what builds you used?

Well, first of all i would advise you to make use of your save file slots. You can just copy the slot right before the boss, if you fail, delete the failed file and copy your file in front of the door. You can also use this to reroll into the best damage modifiers of your weapon.

Secondly, i had the best results with cursed blade (duh) and heavy crossbow. If you use cursed blade, put it in backpack at the exit of a level and drop it from backpack at the entry of each zone. That way you never have to feel its downside and can carry it through without worry.

Ice Armor is a very good tool to uphold the flawless but smoke bomb is also great with up to 1500% extra damage on hit (with enough scrolls) the servants are just fodder.

Since you are using custom mode, obviously keep the weapon selection low to get what you need more reliably. Good Hunting!

I shared my ideas for flawlessing the spoiler boss a short while ago over here

Before 1.9 - yes, Heavy Crossbow was hilariously overpowered, no reason not to use it (it gave me my first flawless victory). Since the weapon rework made it two-handed and capped its damage it is *terrible* for flawlessing the spoiler boss. Shields are basically mandatory if you don't want to pull out your hair unless you are already a god at the game. Not only would you have to give up the ability to parry the damage, without parry you also have barely any windows to retaliate and Heavy Crossbow is very slow.
And I learned that the hard way because I loved Heavy Crossbow and wanted to stick to it. After practicing for two hours to survive without a shield I could get through the early phases fairly reliably, but the final phase is absolutely brutal when he just chains all the different abilities and you can barely get a safe shot it. Yes, it's possible to flawless the spoiler boss with a Heavy Crossbow, but boy do I ever not recommend trying.

Good advice otherwise though.

Thank you for your answer, in the meantime I got lucky with a 2x damage Infantry and managed to flawless Servants and then on a later run Queen with no issues.

I'll attempt to use save file manipulation in that case for the spoiler boss since having a 50min run just to do 1 attempt at him does not sound appealing to me. Cursed Blade sounds fine but I'll probably go tactics because of Crusher.

Also as a side note Armadillopack doesn't really help much so if anyone else is reading this I wouldn't recommend using it over/with another shield if you're going for hitless.

Again, thank you for the advice.

One more thing that's interesting to bear in mind - the game seems to have a really weird damage reduction mechanism for bosses. If a single hit exceeds 2% of the boss's health, than the game starts to damp it down. If you can land a hit as big as 10% of the boss's health, it will do only 6-7% worth of damage. Since the 5 bolts of the Heavy Crossbow count as one hit. it's actually one of the worst weapons for the purpose, especially if you have your Tactics really pumped up. You're always better off with a weapon which has high DPS due to swift repeats. As boring as it is in general gameplay, the Sonic Carbine would be my first choice on a flawless attempt (and it actually was for Mama Tick and HotK). The Cursed Sword could also work well.

Cursed Sword all the way for the Giant. It won't leave it enough time to react and can be beaten in less than 10 seconds. With Tactics, a well placed Tesla Coil trap is a great way to take care of both fists in a passive manner. Traps and Cursed Sword works well against Mama Tick too.
Concierge is best if you have some means to freeze him so it won't get near you and wear it down with ranged attacks and skills while just focusing on dodging it's attacks. This stands true for the Time Keeper and Conjuctivius as well. Latter is always on the move, so using an Owl with Magic Missle works well. Or you can just freeze him. And it's tentacles. However I have nothing against the scarecrow. I can rarely attack even, usually just busy parrying it's continuous onslaught while waiting for passive skills to wear it down.

Thank you very much, kind sir, for saving my nerves and chair. Just yesterday, i had perfect gear and setup for flawlessing Servants, with legendary Ice Armor, and i FAILED, thanks to one shot from Euterpe, uncomfortable level generation and not so perfect CLIMBING up to third fight. I can't describe bloody rage and then exhaustion i felt. Now, that won't happen again. :dcrandom:

I did 0 BC for all of them because you can 100 to 0 them pretty fast and easy. For servants I have a video with what I used. I think for queen first time I got a bunch of nice rolls on everything and ended up melting her. I used Cross/fireband with bear traps and legendary buzz saw with hokuto. No mercy, Acropatipack and point blank. I have yet to do spoiler boss flawlessly because the area leading to it is an absolute, massive, deluxe pain in the ass.
