Audio problem....
Wonder if someone can help, I have the latest version of Dead Cells installed, audio works absolutely fine when playing the sound through my laptop speakers and when going through my headset, but, when plugged into my TV, no audio. Yet I try other games and it works absolutely fine through my TV. Any ideas?

It's kind of hard to troubleshoot someone's setup over an internet forum.

How does the device connect to your TV? What programs on your device send output? What connectors will your TV work with?

For instance, if I were to connect my relatively new computer to my much older TV, I'd need a specialized cable for video, then I'd have to send audio through another cable. HDMI can handle both audio and video, in most cases, assuming the other devices work that way, too.

So, that's the main thing right now: what are you using to play Dead Cells, what cables are being used to transmit to the TV, what TV do you have, and how does it accept input, and what background processes on your device are sending that data?

I am using a HDMI cable to go straight from my laptop to my TV. every other game I play comes out of the TV absolutely fine, but Dead cells won't play audio through my TV for no reason at all.

Interesting. Yeah, if everything else works, then that's hard to say. Does audio come through the laptop speakers while playing Dead Cells?

All I can think to do is to check your audio settings and see what the output is set to.

Could also be worth checking your GPU settings... I've had to fight with Nvidia settings for years now because it wants to send my audio through HDMI to my monitor (without speakers, of course). Every update, it changes it back to HDMI.

Yeah when my laptop is not connected to my TV the sound comes out of my laptop speakers fine, just not when it is in the TV which is really weird.

Yeah, it'd be one thing if the speakers still played the sound through your laptop that way.

But I'd still recommend looking at your sound settings, and seeing what the output is set to when connected to your TV. Beyond that, I'm not quite sure.

I have solved the problem, though the solution is a bit odd.

I have to first of all open the volume mixer, then open the game and as the game boots up, click on the volume mixer again so that is at the front of the screen.

No idea why, but this solves the problem.

Dude - here I am, years later, running into the same problem and your weird workaround fixed it for me as well! Thank you, wise voice from the past.
