Devs have abandoned the game?

This coming update will be the final one for the game. Sucks that they're abandoning this because it has lots of potential. I may not buy their next game because I value a complete experience instead of leaving it half finished.

Game is finished and has been finished for quite some time after 1.0 update aka the end off early access thats when a game is 100% complete any updates after that is extra stuff the story to the game is done and has been for a long time

From what I have seen in the discord server, it appears that Evil Empire were forced to drop support by Motion Twin. A developer basically confirmed the official announcement was BS. They didn't want to end support yet. Update 35 will be the last one though.

Its not called abandoned its called moving on (or just completing the game). this game has more content in it then most AAA games these days. You sound quite entitled.

EE still wanted to work on it but MT forced them to drop it for apparently greedy reasons. We were meant to get updates until the end of 2024 at least and update 36 was meant to be a big one, but we aren't getting it anymore.

If that is true then I take back my comment about him being entitled. and I apologise for it. If this is truly the case (I like to search things on my own to verify) I do not plan on getting their new game if it caused them to abandon their great game.

the game is completed since 1.0, all that we got after is post launch support, and alot of the stuff was free as well, the game got a amazing post launch support with shows the company is good.

I looked around and other then people assuming I cant find anything that is concrete that the were forced to abandon it. Any sources would be helpful. NM I found it. The original creator of dead cells straight up said "MT did the worst imaginable ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ move against dead cells and EE" then talks about how they had a ton of plans for the game but they were too greedy and wanted a new game. So ya it seems like its true. Then states hes glad hes done with that company because they are horrible.

Was it Windblown that caused the support to be cut? I hope not, that game honestly looks meh.

I still don't understand why Windblown would be the reason they cut the project, it doesn't look like EE is really affiliated with that game to begin with.

Yes again people saying game is abandoned, dead and can't be play again ones developer says they won't be making any more patches.

Its a single player gamer, finish product years ago and will live on long after og players are dead.
