I bought the game
I bought the Castlevania DLC
I played the game
The game spins an RNG wheel to "Decide" if I get to PLAY the expansion I just paid for.
How is that not any clearer than I can possibly make it?
If you just bought the game, the only prerequisite is to do three runs, don't need to complete them, just get out and die for all I care, or take the time to try and learn the game, whatever suits.
After that, Belmont will spawn in the prison quarters and the first part of the DLC is unlocked, you can then go to it anytime you're in the first map, the RNG doesn't decide if you can play it or not, it just decides where it will spawn on the layout for that particular run.
This DLC is the easiest to access, it alerts you to it when it becomes available for the first time, and will literally tell you where to go next after you beat parts of it.
Indeed. To quote the OP:
castle outskirts, boom, always there. DLC.
The wiki's biome map[deadcells.fandom.com] doesn't seem to have been updated yet, but until then, you can at least get an idea of how biomes in general are accessed:

yeah, i bought the game (and dlc) because castlevania finally enticed me to try it again after i bounced off of it on a family member's sharing five years ago. after my requisite three deaths (i although i tried not to die) i just locked onto castlevania stuff from then on
it's 100% guaranteed to be available, there's no rng unless you somehow feel compelled to always do the 2 minute door or something.
then once you hit the point where you're directed to the "true" route to kill dracula, if you didn't take the early castle route, it's guaranteed to be there at the same spot later in the run, provided you take the correct route. which the game spells out for you in detail, and doesn't let you forget because there's an npc in the starting area from that point on to remind you.
i'm genuinely unsure how someone could conclude the game "spins a wheel" on this. unless, again, there was a fixation on the time attack part, which... would be sad. there's too much good stuff in the game (all of it, not just the rtc stuff) to not stop and explore a bit at least some of the time.
that's not the official wiki anymore, you want wiki.gg. it has an updated biome map.
OP, this will probably help:

I agree but not in the way you would like.
THANK YOU!!! I didnt even realize that it ALWAYS spawned it.. I thought you got the door you got, Had no idea multiple doorways spawned.
I gave you an award, and I honest to god thank you for taking the time!!!
I did the exact same thing. I dont really care about Dead Cells. I love Castlevania. Its just straight nostalgia.
Now that I know how to access it every time. (As I said, I never played Dead Cells, so I had no idea multiple doors could spawn, I thought you got what you got.
Thanks a ton for explaining it along with MadKing.. I gave you an award as well! Thanks a ton!
