getting the cavern key

So i'm having trouble getting the caverns key through the now blown open door, i understand HOW i'm meant to get it, using ejecting head syndrome, however it just doesn't reach far enough? i've seen people do it cuz i thought i was being stupid and not doing something, but whenever they use it, it seems to travel further, i can't even get it close?

You should stand as far to the ledge as possible, eject the head and immediately start moving to the right with it, then jump in the mid-air and you should get there without any problems.

You can also reach it using assault shield.

ye i tried that and it just doesn't go far at all for some reason :L

I'm having the same issue. After being stumped for a while, I watched a video on Youtube and realized that when I detach my head, it doesn't go nearly as far as it does for other people. When I stand at the furthest edge of the ledge and toss my head, it's almost like it hits an invisible wall halfway across and falls straight down into the lava. Pushing right on the stick and hitting the jump button don't help, it still falls straight down at the same spot.

I had the same problem. I ended up taking a slightly different approach. Position your character as close to the edge of the ledge as possible and make sure he is facing right. Then eject your head, but pull left and hit jump to make it land on the platform you are standing on. You can then move it to your left so it has a run up for the jump. Should be able to reach the platform easily this way.

Just throw the head, stick it to the platform, switch to "floor" side, and switch buttons. Then just double jump and get a key on the other side of lava pool.

Some BPs/items are much worse to obtain in the game...

It looks like your head doesnt go far enough because you aint hitting the d key (or whatever right is 4 u). as soon as youve detached your head you have to be moving right.
