How good is the game without the twitch integration?
Considering buying the game but was wondering if you NEED twitch integration for the full experience or if it is just a nice add on. Kinda like killing room, there is a decent bit of gameplay there without twitch but you really need it for the full experience.

Twitch integration isn't required in the slightest. In fact, I don't even know the entirety of what all it does, an haven't used it. I think many, if not most, people could say the same. It's a nice extra if you're into that sort of thing, but hardly critical to the gameplay.

Twitch integration isn't a core part of the game in any way. The point of that feature is that you can allow your chat to play a part in the game by having them perform tasks like:
  • Opening chests that require the streamer to fight an Elite enemy
  • Applying random modifiers to make the next level harder in some way
  • Vote on where to go, what stat a scroll is put into, etc.
It's just a fun thing to play around with, for people that have the audience to do it.

And to be honest, from what I've heard, it doesn't seem like it gets used too much anyhow, because it's basically giving viewers the ability to make the game extremely hard for the person playing.

Honestly, I find the chat integration to be incredibly annoying. It fills the chat with excessive messages, and can lock the player out of the next area until a modifier is voted for. I'm sure there are other examples, and certain things about it are pretty cool, but it's just not all that enjoyable to me.

Viewers can vote to be a chicken which allows them to control when you heal and even deny you of healing, pop messages up on your screen so you don't have to read chat, and occasionally the chicken will attack enemies if the modifier for the level allows it.
During boss runs, viewers can be the boss and call down crowd control effects such as spawning birds, zombies, rain projectiles from above and even put bombs in your way, all detrimental and absolutely nothing you want.

If you have a lot of people in your chat ( and i mean more than 10 or so) they'll be able to control your game. But if you're only doing this for 1 to 3 people, this isn't the game. Often times you'll just stand there waiting for something to happen and end up having to type in chat yourself just to progress to the next level, that's pretty much when you turn twitch integration off.

In the end, it doesn't really add any experience to your gameplay, just a huge hindrance.

Honestly, I didn't even realise it had Twitch integration, so no - not even slightly necessary!
