Wish I Knew About Disengagement WAY Sooner
Assist Mode ultimately saved the game for me, no question-- locking part of the story behind difficulty levels that 99% of the player base would never even reach was no bueno-- but I think I would've gotten a lot closer if I'd known about Disengagement.

One of my-- and many others'-- biggest complaints was that you could be killed off in a literal second, with no recourse. Having an emergency escape option-- not only saving you from death, but giving you five free seconds to get the hell out of there-- would've made the game far more bearable.

I'm writing this, not only to inform those who still don't know of this wonder (Free Hint: it's in the opening area, search high), but to question if hiding it so thoroughly was necessarily a good idea.

disengagement? you mean separating your goo from your corpse?
this is supposed to be shown after you complete 0BC right? but I agree, it should be shown better in the early game

Disengagement is a colorless mutation. Description: "If your HP falls below 15%, a force field protects you for 5 sec. Can only be used every 120 sec."
It's a good safety cushion for learning new biomes and difficulties, and to catch the human element (it's unrealistic to never get hit because you screw up eventually), but it takes up a slot that you could use for more dps or something else. It's good, but it comes at a cost (if you don't get hit it's just dead weight in a slot) so I'm not sure about taking it absolutely every run.
